THE computer supplier Hewlett Packard and Internet Ireland, the Internet specialist company have formed a consortium to offer Irish businesses a one stop shop for Internet requirements.
The two companies, together with Microsoft and Informix, can supply hardware, software, graphic design of internet sites, internal company intranets, data bases, connections and Internet access, as well as training for employees.
"We believe that the Internet represents the best opportunity for Irish business since the decision to enter the EU," said Mr Brian Kennan, the managing director of HewlettPackard Ireland. "We have been searching for an Irish partner to help channel our Internet capabilities into the Irish market."
"Up to now, developing a static web page has been the limit of ambition for many corporates," said Mr Barry Breslin, the managing director of Internet Ireland. "However, the development of secure Internet/Intranet transactions makes electronic commerce a realistic and effective element in corporate Internet strategy."
