A new body, the Irish Computer Trade Association (ICTA), has been established to represent the computer industry in Ireland.

The association was launched yesterday by the Minister for Defence, Mr Smith, at the Windows World '98 exhibition at the RDS. It aims to guarantee reliability, integrity and dependability in the computer industry to members and to consumers also, said the ICTA chairman, Mr John Daly.
