Troubled French appliance maker Moulinex-Brandt could file for bankruptcy today, union sources said yesterday.

The sources said company president Mr Patrick Puy had told a works council meeting the move was likely after the group's primary shareholders and bankers failed to agree on a financing plan that would keep the company running.

Earlier on Thursday, Euronext suspended shares in the company pending a statement.
