Recently Family Money reported on the increasing popularity of making investments via the Internet. Mr P from Dundrum is also interested and came across a number of Websites which appeared in his favourite British Sunday newspaper recently.
"You mentioned the discount brokers in the US who only execute deals over the Net and don't give any advice, but there is also a crowd in the UK called Sharelink who work on an execution basis only as well.
"Yahoo!, one of the Internet search companies also has a free stock market news and data company." Last June, the London Stock Exchange relaxed its rules about the availability of share-price information and cut-down versions of the share-price lists used by professional brokers are now available on the Web and can be accessed from home computers.
During November's mini-crash, access to the share information sites - where here is a 20-minute delay in the passing on prices from the Stock Exchange itself - more than 300,000 were accessing the sites daily, up from the usual 200,000 hits.
It costs £20 to access one of the most popular FTSE-100 share price sites provided by ESI - which stands for Electronic Share Information.
Mr P has included the following three Website addresses in his e-mail to us; www.esi.co.uk; www.infotrade.co.uk; and www.moneyworld.co.uk
