Irish information storage specialist, Raidtec, has opened a new 12,000 sq ft premises at Castle Road, Little Island, Co Cork. Opened earlier this week by the Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Martin, the £1 million expansion consolidates the company's position as a leading designer and manufacturer of fault tolerant controllers and subsystems for the computer systems storage market. By the end of 1999, the company plans to employ more than 100 people. The growth in computer networking and storage use has allowed Raidtec to develop its business on the basis of RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) technology.
