A lack of contract transparency, a slow planning process and problems with an expensive labour force undermine mining in Ireland, according to Minco chairman Dr John Teeling.

Reporting a pre-tax loss of £180,439 for the year, the company said it discovered two high-grade lenses of mineralisation at its Pallas Green property in County Limerick.
