FOOTBALL IS providing a decent living for pundit Eamon Dunphy, according to figures recently filed for his media company.

Accumulated profits at Mac Consulting topped €500,000 last year, according to the figures at the Companies Office.

Dunphy is one of the best known media personalities in the country, operating as a pundit over four decades. The accounts show that the controversial pundit’s firm increased its accumulated profits by €52,462 to €500,233 in 2011.

Figures released last November by the station for 2009 show that the RTÉ panellist’s firm received the ninth highest amount at €225,485 that year.

Those 2009 pay figures related to his football analysis along with his Sunday morning radio show, Conversations with Eamon Dunphy that ended its run on RTÉ in 2009 after 3½ years. Along with his RTÉ deal, Dunphy also has a lucrative contract with the Irish Daily Star to write separate weekly columns on soccer and politics.

The filings for last year would also include Dunphy’s earnings from Newstalk which won’t recur in the 2012 accounts after he resigned from the radio station last October.

The accounts also show that Dunphy’s firm owns an investment property valued at €830,000.
