MCI WorldCom said yesterday it had now introduced international frame relay services for corporate customers in Ireland. Frame relay is used for transferring high speed data.
MCI WorldCom Ireland's chief executive Mr Sean Melly said it would reduce expenditure on local access charges and customer premises equipment and was part of a portfolio of services which the company intended to roll out over the next year. It is understood that the system for Ireland cost around $2 million (£1.3 million). Mr Melly said there had been huge demand from multinational companies for the service.
