Frankfurt DAX: 5001.55 (+65.23)The DAX index broke through the symbolic 5,000-point level, finishing the official session up a strong 1.32 per cent from the official close on Thursday. One broker said: "The DAX was pushed up today by Wall Street's new gains to record highs, positive company news, a firm bond market and a higher dollar."
Paris CAC-40: 3688.91 (+0.23)
The Paris Bourse scored a tiny gain but it was enough to take the market's CAC-40 index to a new record high.
