A MARINA with the capacity for about 100 boats is to be established in the outer dock of the Grand Canal Basin in Dublin.

Tenders for the project, which were invited by the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht a number of weeks ago, have to be submitted by next Friday and a decision on the successful tender will be made shortly afterwards.

The exact size of the marina has not been disclosed, but sources have indicated that, for the project to be realistic, it will have to provide berthing for at least 100 boats. The marina will be located at the Charlotte Quay end of the outer dock, close to the existing windsurfing.
