Software company, Lotus Development Ireland, has donated a bus to St Michael's House which provides a range of services in the Dublin area to more than 1,600 children and adults with learning disabilities.

The contribution is part of the Lotus Philanthropy Programme which annually donates £30,000 into community causes in Ireland. The company operates a software operations and product development facility on the northside of Dublin at Airways Industrial Estate. The bus, which is the third donated by Lotus Ireland, has wheelchair access, and will be used to serve St Michael's House clients in the Ballymun area. According to Ms Ann Burke, human resource director at Lotus Ireland: "We are particularly pleased the bus will be used in the Ballymun area as this is directly in our catchment area, where we are involved in a number of activities including recruitment."
