BRITISH motor dealer group Lookers received a 46.5 per cent take up of the £10 million rights issue aimed at part funding the £23.5 million takeover of the Charles Hurst group in Northern Ireland. Lookers said that the shares not taken up in the rights issue were placed in the market at the offer price of 125p per share.
Woodchester, which has a 29.9 per cent stake in Lookers, took up its full entitlement at a cost of £3 million. It also paid £3.35 million to buy Hurst's Adelaide hire purchase business from Lookers.
