Lisheen zinc and lead mine in Co Tipperary will generate revenue in three years and expects to be making a profit within seven years at current zinc prices, general manager, Mr Donatus Cunningham, said yesterday.

At full production, expected in the second quarter of the year 2000, the project will provide 1.5 million tonnes of zinc ore to its US and European customers and employ 300 staff.
