New regulations governing the level of information supplied to people buying life assurance policies will not be ready until the middle of the summer, a spokesman for the Minister of State for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Mr Noel Treacy has said.
He was speaking after the Minister's meeting with the Consumers' Association of Ireland (CAI) yesterday to discuss the controversy over Mr Treacy's decision to exclude from a draft of the regulations a provision requiring specific disclosure of the commission paid.
The CAI described the meeting as positive.
