Lan Communications, a subsidiary of Eircom that provides systems integration and professional services, has won a £320,000 contract with Bord Gβis. The contract will see Lan supply a data network linking Bord Gβis's Gasworks Road headquarters in Cork with 120 sub-stations nationwide.

This network should provide a secure management platform to run the company's core business activities such as gas monitoring and allocation of sufficient gas flows to substations on the grid.
