THE Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association has called on the National Pensions Board to examine the sale and promotion of pension plans, which it claims can "seduce" potential subscribers with "half truths".
"The Pension Board needs to examine the policies of the individual pension companies with the intent of ensuring that the claims made with respect to pension plans are transparent and correct," according to ISME. It has also called for the introduction of an agreed code of practice, with pension companies failing to comply with it being struck off.
