The Irish arm of engineering and consulting group RPS had profits of almost €340,000 in its last financial year.
Figures lodged with the companies office show that RPS Engineering Services, the Irish subsidiary of the British-based RPS group, had pre-tax profits of €338,000 in 2008.
The surplus was considerably down on the €4 million earned by the company in 2007, but the sale of assets accounted for most of RPS profits during that year.
The company’s operating profits came to €371,000 in 2008, while it made a €209,000 loss the previous year.
Revenues increased by about 14 per cent in 2008 to €31 million from €28.8 million the previous year.
RPS provides engineering and consultancy services across a number of fields.
In Ireland, it has worked on major road-building projects, such as the Dublin-Belfast corridor, Limerick tunnel, as well as a range of other developments involving structural engineering.
It is part of the larger RPS group, a publicly quoted engineering group based in Britain with businesses in construction, development, energy, environmental services, and health and safety.
