Iona Technologies, the Irish-based software company listed on New
York's NASDAQ exchange, has reported a 142 per cent growth in revenue for the second quarter ended June 29th. Total revenues have risen to
$10.4 million, up from $4.3 million on the corresponding period last year. The company has reported net income of $1.7 million, or $0.09
per share, compared to $0.6 million or $0.04 per share in the corresponding period of 1996. The chairman and chief executive of
Iona Technologies, Dr Chris Horn, said the company was maintaining a
"tight focus" on its traditional markets and witnessing impressive growth in "emerging markets such as Asia and South America".
