INM sale of two London titles clears hurdle
A deal between Independent News Media and Russian billionaire Alexander Lebedev to take over the London Independentand Independent on Sundaymoved a step closer yesterday after the UK's competition watchdog ruled out an inquiry.
The Office of Fair Trading said the proposed takeover had not been found to qualify for an investigation that could have prevented a deal on competition grounds. – (Reuters)
ClearStream wins Latin American deal
Medical devices firm ClearStream has signed a new contract for the distribution of its catheters in a number of Latin-American and Caribbean territories.
The deal with Boston Medical Device International will see ClearStream’s peripheral angioplasty catheters distributed into key growth markets for the firm, based in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. ClearStream chief executive Andy Jones pointed to forecasts that there would be 32 million diabetics in Latin America by 2025.
US trade mission wins 60m deals
Contracts and agreements worth over €60 million were concluded by Irish firms on an Enterprise Ireland-led trade mission to the US this week. Kilkenny-based Taxback.com has confirmed it is to expand its services to the US market.
