AGRI business group IAWS has purchased the British specialist horticultural fertiliser manufacturer, PB Kent, for £9 million sterling (£9.7 million). Founded 100 years ago, BP Kent is the second largest manufacturer of horticultural fertilisers in Britain with operations at Newton Aycliff, Co Durham. It has net assets of £1.7 million sterling with profits of £1.2 million sterling for the year to the end of June 1996.

IAWS has also announced the sale of its by products manufacturing facility in Northern Ireland, Lisburn Proteins, to Glenfarm holdings for £8.3 million.
