The growth comes after rapid growth in the past 18 months, with significant revenue growth and more than 500 employees added over 2021.

Akusus said on Sunday it had appointed Liz Shanahan as chairperson. Originally from Kerry, Ms Shanahan has more than 25 years' experience working with the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare providers. She was on the board of UDG until its recent acquisition.

“We’re delighted to have Liz as Chairperson. Her wealth of experience adds real value and guidance to the board during a very exciting time of growth and customer expansion,” saidRelateCare group chief executive Conor O’Byrne. “The global pandemic has changed the way that organisations communicate with patients and increased the need for virtual engagement. In a time of unprecedented demand for healthcare services we are incredibly proud to play such a pivotal role in supporting so many healthcare organisations, at home in Ireland and abroad.”

Ms Shanahan said the group was a real global leader in its sector, and had achoved that with little fanfare or recognition locally. “I am so pleased to be a part of a business that has succeeded in balancing its strong roots and commitment to Ireland, whilst blazing a trail across the US,” she said.
