Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore appeared at US biotechnology firm Amgen in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin, today for the announcement of a $200 million ( €151 million) expansion programme in Ireland.
A total of 100 jobs are expected to be created through the investment, which is supported by the Government through the IDA. Approximately 350 construction jobs are expected to arise during the anticipated 19-month building period.
The announcement comes a year after Amgen bought the former Pfizer plant in Dún Laoghaire. Mr Kenny has welcomed the expansion as a "really positive development".
