Global Money Transfer (GMT) a British international money transfer company, has extended its money transfer operation to the Republic of Ireland.

Expatriates resident in Dublin may now use GMT to send cash back to relatives and friends in their former home countries.

PK Ventures, based in Moore Street in Dublin, has been appointed as GMT's lead agent for the Republic and is already seeing high demand from customers for the money transfer service.

GMT's service operates to Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Customers wishing to transfer funds to India and Sri Lanka may opt for home delivery.

The company is offering the first transfer free for a limited period. Customers do not need a bank account, nor do they have to fill in forms and the exchange rate is fixed at the time of the transfer.

The sender is given a personal identity number and a transaction number which they pass on to the receiver. Once the funds are transferred, the receiver goes to the overseas location selected by the sender, gives their personal identity number and transaction number and collects the money.
