GLENCAR Exploration has announced that Pincock Allen and Holt (PAH) has started a feasibility study on its Wassa project in Ghana. The study is scheduled for completion by the middle of the year.
Recent drilling has extended the ore reserve on the eastern and south eastern flanks of the main zone and in the south eastern part of the Deadman's hill zone. The company has also confirmed "considerable depth extension" in the area. Drilling, is continuing.
The current phase has involved 15,000 metres of drilling. Glencar said a revised mining reserve will be calculated by PAH.
On the Kanyankaw project in Ghana, Cyprus Amax has drilled 12 holes. Ore grade mineralisation was encountered in 3 holes, but Cyprus Amax concluded that the results did not meet its minimum target criteria and withdrew from the earn in agreement. The results have been returned to Glencar and its 50/50 joint venture partner, Moydow. They plan to continue with the exploration programme.
