One of the best things about Christmas is all your nieces and nephews - knowing that they are far away. Most Irish families have relations overseas, and the horde of photographs arriving by post in the run-up to the festive season is a small price to pay for a bit of peace and quiet. But now you can say hello forever to that noisy-nephews nuisance, because those clever people at Intel have come up with a way to make them "virtually" present. The new Create & Share Camera Pack allows them send you endless stream of v-mail - video mail - including video footage of them gurgling into the camera, screaming into the camera, and chanting local sports songs into the camera. The pack includes a camera for still and video pictures, video phone software, an Internet home page builder with video, still images, sound and text, a digital movie editor, email postcard software, and interactive movie-camera games. The more expensive version of the pack even includes a video capture card, which will allow your relations download home video clips and send them to you on the Internet. The company says the pack is unlikely to be available in Ireland this holiday season, but can be bought on the Internet - www.intel.com/createshare - and in US shops. The Intel Create & Share Camera Pack comes in two versions, retailing at around $150 (£100) and $199. Customers need a PC running at least 133 MHz, Windows 95, 16 MB of RAM, a sound card with microphone and speakers and a 28.8 Kbps modem.
