DEUTSCHE Morgan Grenfell has suspended a top fund manager after allegations that she had attempted to persuade about 20 colleagues to defect with her to a rival bank, sources close to the bank said. The move is the latest embarrassment for the German owned investment bank, whose fund management subsidiary, Morgan Grenfell Asset Management (MGAM), last year was caught in a scandal over the activities of a rogue fund manager, Mr Peter Young. Ms Nicola Horlick, one of Britain's most powerful fund managers, was believed by the bank to have been planning to move to Dutch bank AMB Amro.
