All-women investment clubs obtain a higher return than their all-male counterparts according to a recent US survey. The National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC) reports that in 1998, the average annual compounded lifetime return for all-female clubs was 23.8 per cent, compared to 19.2 per cent for all-male clubs and 21.4 per cent for mixed gender clubs. The number of all-female association clubs has increased by 25 per cent over 10 years to 1998 with most of the growth occurring in the last five years.
The association attributes women's interest to publicity surrounding the famous Beardstown Ladies Business and Professional Women's Investment Club and the increase in women's personal wealth.
