NEWSPAPER publishers, editors and representatives of newspaper organisations from throughout Europe are in Dublin for the General Assembly of the European Newspaper Publishers Association (ENPA), being held today.
Newspaper publishers from all EU countries, plus Norway and Switzerland, are meeting in Dublin to coincide with the Irish EU Presidency. Today a closed meeting will be held with the Minister for Finance, Mr Quinn, in his role as president of the Council of Finance Ministers.
Among the issues to be discussed are VAT on newspapers, especially in Ireland, copyright, concentration of media ownership and advertising freedom.
