ESB has won a £7 million contract with the Avonmore Waterford Group for a power plant in Co Kilkenny.

The 15-year contract is for the provision, operation and maintenance of a combined heat and power electricity generating plant at Ballyragget.

Avonmore Waterford has been consolidating milk processing into its Ballyragget plant and needed significant extra capacity. At 10 megawatts it is one of the largest private industrial power stations in Ireland.
