The ESB launches its new-look Website (http:// www.esb.ie) today offering more quality content, regular updates, and greater interactivity.
Since the original Website was established 18 months ago it has recorded more than 30,000 visits with users from 86 countries. The latest revamp was prompted by customer and user feedback, as a result of which the site now features environmental news, interactive games and quizzes, and a comprehensive education section ideal for school projects.
A new section called Powergen, provides visitors with a virtual tour of each of the State's power stations, which will each feature its own sub-site.
The first station featured is Poolbeg in Dublin, with visitors seeing 360 degree views of the station's control room. Over the coming months each of ESB's 23 power stations will be featured on the site, as well as a special feature on ESB's renewable energy projects. The National Grid, responsible for the operation and development of the ESB transmission systems, is another addition to the new site.
