The founders of Celtel Communications, a Galway-based telecommunications company, are the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneurs of the Year 2000. Mr Barry Harper and Mr John Clancy set up their company in 1988 to market phonecards that can save users up to 85 per cent over conventional methods of calling. They were presented with a cheque for £3,000 (€3,809) yesterday by Mr Noel Treacy, the Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
