Engineering firm Kentz has been awarded $45 million contract for a solar power project in South Africa.
The contract was awarded by Scatec Solar, which is developing the Kalkbult Solar PV Project.Kentz will look after the engineering, procurement and construction areas of the project.
The solar power project is part of the country's renewable energy procurement programme, and is scheduled to be finished by January 2014.
Kentz chief executive Christian Brown said contract win demonstrated the company's ability to secure a wide range of engineering, procurement and construction projects. "he award of such a key project for South African renewable energy will position us to contribute to the development of further renewable energy projects across the continent and beyond," he said.
