Redundancies in June were 30 per cent down on the same period last year, according to figures released yesterday by the Department of Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation.
A total of 3,680 people lost their jobs across the State last month compared with 5,257 in June 2010. So far this year, 24,892 workers have been made redundant, 25.7 per cent down on last year. Small business groups noted that, despite the improved figures, as many as 175 workers a day lost their jobs last month.
