Production in Ireland’s manufacturing industries rose marginally in the year to last February, new data from the Central Statistics Office shows.

The annual figure rose by 0.2 per cent over the year, with a decline in food production and computer products weighing on the index. Turnover rose by 5.9 per cent over the 12 months.

Production in the modern sector, which includes high- tech and chemical sectors, fell by 0.8 per cent, while the traditional sector was up 0.6 per cent. On a monthly basis, production fell by 2.3 per cent compared to January.
