An index tracking investor sentiment in the euro zone surged to a three-and-a-half year high in February, according to a survey published today by the Sentix research group.
The headline composite index rose to 16.7 from a reading of 10.6 in January, well above the consensus forecast of 12.5 in a Reuters poll of nine economists, and the highest level since September 2007.
A sub-index on current conditions jumped to 21.25, its highest level in three months, while an index tracking expectations increased to 12.25, the top level since April 2010.
Sentix said 964 investors participated in the survey between February 3rd and February 5th.
