The news that the Co Louth firm Finlays is successfully exporting coffins/caskets to Britain and Spain reminds the Margin of Aer Lingus' introduction of its First Class service on the North Atlantic routes. The airline decided to hold a competition among its employees to name the service. The winner was decreed to be a Dublin Airport worker who came up with the Flying Casket Service. This was duly communicated to Aer Lingus' marketing chief in New York. He hastily told Dublin that the new product would be a difficult sell in the US where caskets are the things you are buried in.
