Duchas, the heritage service, is spending £55,000 (€69,840) in an attempt to lure more Irish people into visiting its 62 fee-paying sites, which include Newgrange and the Rock of Cashel. Currently 70 per cent of all heritage site visitors are from overseas. The campaign, developed by Key Marketing, includes a television and radio campaign supported by RTE, new information literature at the sites, a multi-visit heritage card and the development of a mailing list.
