Happy to adopt a low-key approach, Drury has nonetheless made its mark in the 10 years since it was established by managing director Mr Fintan Drury.
A private company, it has 12 shareholders, all of whom are either executive or non-executive directors of the firm. Its chairman is Mr David Kennedy, a former chief executive of Aer Lingus, whose business contacts are thought to have been influential in developing the firm.
Drury is also the only Irish PR firm to have dipped its toe into overseas waters, having opened an office in Budapest, Hungary, in March 1997 to add to its Dublin and Belfast operations.
Its clients include a host of leading Irish companies such as CRH, Jurys, Anglo Irish Bankcorp and Heiton while it also represents a large number of Northern Irish firms including Powerscreen, Ewart and Mackie.
It has a strong record in handling Irish stock market flotations, dealing with more than any other firm over the last 18 months. It has been involved in bringing ITG, Athlone Extrusions, BCO Technologies, Donegal Creameries and Qualceram to the market while it is also working on the First National flotation. Drury employs 39 people, 31 of them in Dublin, and is thought to have had fee income last year of around £2 million.
