Dixons Group plc, Britain's leading electrical retailer, announced a higher than expected 14 per cent rise in profits to £217.6 million sterling for last year.
The retailer said more than 100 new stores are planned this year, creating around 2,000 new jobs. It currently has just over 900 stores, including Dixons, Currys and PC World. The Dixons group has five stores in Ireland: three Dixons, a Currys and a PC World all in Dublin. No decision has been made concerning the location of the new retail outlets.
