The managing director of the Irish branch of an overseas vehicle-insurance company yesterday secured a High Court order preventing the firm from dismissing or demoting her.

Ms Annete Mink, of the Garden House, Kilruddery, Bray, Co Wicklow, and managing director of Europ Assistance Ireland Ltd, obtained the order pending the trial of an action between her and her employer, which has its Irish headquarters at Clanwilliam Square, Dublin 2.

Mr Justice Geoghegan also gave Ms Mink an order restraining Europ Assistance Ireland Limited and Europ Assistance Holdings Ltd from watching and besetting her at her home or elsewhere, and from committing a nuisance or interfering with her constitutional rights, including her right to privacy.

Both defendants were also ordered not to suspend her from employment, or otherwise interfere with her contract of employment.
