The death has taken place of Dr John Hogan, the head of corporate finance at ABN Amro and formerly one of the leading equity analysts in the Irish stockbroking world. Dr Hogan (52) died in Dublin after a short illness.
Dr Hogan, from Co Clare, was educated at University College Dublin and received a PhD from Boston College. He was a partner in Riada Stockbrokers before Riada's takeover by ABN Amro and was head of equity research, where he specialised in Irish financial shares.
Most recently, he was head of corporate finance at ABN Amro, where he was involved in the conversion and stock market flotation of Irish Permanent and the flotation of Eircom.
