ITG has announced plans to deploy touch screen technology which will allow retail merchants display and sell products via the Internet. Transactions will be completed through ITG's own credit and debit payments network. Hypercom's EPIC 6000 terminals will be installed in retail outlets in Britain and Ireland over the coming months.

The terminals will offer virtual stores to retailers by transforming their credit card swipe machines into Internet connection points. ITG and Hypercom will create customised virtual stores for individual merchants, which will manage shipping requirements, electronic statements, and send and receive e-mails.
