Conduit, the quoted information group, yesterday introduced a branded phone directory assistance service in Austria, its first outside the State.

The group claimed it would secure 10 per cent of the market there by the end of the year. Besides operating the 11850 and Esat directory services in the Republic, it also provides such services for Orange and Telewest in Britain and other clients in Sweden and Switzerland.
