Compaq is claiming market share leadership in the Irish PC market, following its takeover of Digital Equipment.

The personal computer retailer now claims almost 47 per cent of the total PC server market, from 25 per cent in the first three months of last year. It has also increased its share of the non-portable or desktop market to almost 23 per cent, from 12.3 per cent.
