Vodafone chief on track to lead Dublin Chamber in 2018

Vodafone Ireland's chief executive Anne O'Leary is on track to lead the Dublin Chamber of Commerce after she was nominated to take up the position of deputy vice president.

The move means Ms O’Leary will take over the role of president of the chamber in February 2018, subject to ratification at the 2018 AGM.

Ms O’Leary said she was honoured at the nomination and was looking forward to the challenges the role of deputy vice president of the chamber would bring.

“Between now and the start of 2018 it is estimated that the Irish economy will grow by 8 per cent,” she said. “The chamber is a driving force in creating the right environment for sustainable growth, and I am excited to champion the needs of a thriving Dublin that will be at the heart of a return to a stronger, more stable economic future for Ireland.”

In 2017, she will be nominated for vice president of the chamber, a role held this year by Brendan Foster of Grant Thornton as vice president. BDO’s Derry Gray holds the office of president of the chamber for 2016.
