WATERFORD estate agent Purcell Properties is guiding €1.5 million for a strategically located 18-acre landbank within a mile of the city centre and with extensive frontage to the river Suir.
The land, at Newrath, is located close to the new bridge opening on to the Waterford-Dublin motorway. The site contains 7,617sq m (82,000sq ft) of mixed quality warehousing, most of it developed about 50 years ago. The buildings were originally used by the Gouldings Plastics Group and were subsequently acquired by Smurfits for the manufacture of plastic products. In recent years they have been used for bulk storage of grain and fertiliser.
Purcell says the zoning would allow a mix of uses including retail, recycling centre, light industrial and warehousing.
