Trial of former Nama official adjourned

Enda Farrell faces 13 charges for disclosing confidential information

A former official with the National Asset Management Agency who is accused of disclosing confidential information has had his trial adjourned.

Enda Farrell (39) with a listed address of La Reine, Avenue Louise Brussels, Belgium and formerly of Dunboyne, Co Meath faces 13 charges contrary to the 2009 NAMA Act for disclosing confidential information in May, June and July 2012.

Michael Bowman SC, defending, told Judge Patricia Ryan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court today/yesterday (Monday) that new material was received on January 8th last, which his team needed time to consider.

He asked that the case be taken out of the trial list and re-listed in two weeks for a new trial date to be fixed.

Kerida Naidoo SC, prosecuting, indicated that the State had no objection to the application for an adjournment.

Judge Ryan remanded Mr Farrell on continuing bail to appear for mention on February 1st, next.
