THE 19TH century Kingsland Church at St Kevin’s Road in Portobello, Dublin 8, is to be sold on behalf of the trustees of the Methodist church.
Karl Byrne of Douglas Newman Good Commercial – joint agents with HT Meagher O’Reilly – is quoting €1.3 million for the building which ceased to be used as a church in the 1940s. It was used up to recently as a social welfare office and is in need of upgrading. The agent says the floor area of 263sq m (2,831sq ft) could be enlarged to 325sq m (3,498sq ft) if a mezzanine floor was inserted.
The zoning for the building would allow it to be used for residential purposes or for medical and related facilities, safety and welfare of the public, as well as a guest house, restaurant, veterinary surgery or an embassy.
