€6.5m on Fitzwilliam Square

With Georgian office buildings on Dublin's main squares selling well, DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is optimistic of finding a buyer for 23 Fitzwilliam Square which has a guide price of €6.5 million.

The four-storey building has a basement apartment and offices in all the upper floors bringing the overall space up to 416sq m (4,478sq ft).

The house is in need of some upgrading but could become an attractive headquarters or a fine family house.

There are six rear car-parking spaces.

Space to rent at Nutgrove

A new foodcourt and shops are available to rent in Nutgrove shopping centre in south Co Dublin as part of a development within the long-established centre. Three of the five new food units are available and have floor areas of 19.3sq m (208sq ft).

A fourth is 40.3sq m (434sq ft), says Rita Carney of agents Jones Lang LaSalle. A retail unit of 44sq m (474sq ft) is available as well. The agency is also marketing another unit in Nutgrove with full planning permission for a takeaway. It has over 67sq m (over 721sq ft) and is available to rent at €75,000 plus a premium of around the same amount.

New restaurants for canal area

Four new restaurants are to open in Dublin's Grand Canal area. Dieter Bergmann along with Szabi Csitari, head chef of The Winding Stair, and London restaurateur Sirin Lewendon are to open Riva restaurant on Hanover Quay. It will seat 70 diners who will be offered a Continental menu.

Next door the Herbstreet Bistro will also cater for up to 70 guests when it opens its all day business in May.

Real Gourmet Burger will have the use of 185sq m (1,991sq ft) for its new restaurant on Gallery Quay. It will open in July.

The fourth new business will be the Crystal Boat, an Asian restaurant specialising in seafood, which is also due to open during the summer at Gallery Quay.

Low office rents at Park West

Companies on the look out for modern office accommodation at seriously discounted rates can turn their attention to Park West Business Park at Nangor Road in Dublin 12.

The Petrogas Group, who operated the Applegreen filling stations, has just leased an office suite of 1,765sq m (18,998 sq ft) at a rent of €139 per sq m (€13 per sq ft). There are 40 car-parking spaces on site.

David Bennett of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald, who handled the letting, said other recent arrivals in the park included Franklin & Templeton, Komfort, Hedderman Stanley and Atradius.

€2.5m for Cherrywood site

The site of Jim Rock Motors near Cherrywood Office Park at Loughlinstown Road, Co Dublin, has come on the market with a guide price of €2.5 million.

The garage site is 0.16 of an acre and, according to selling agent Hassett, could lend itself to a number of alternative uses, such as offices, retail or another service-related business.
