Menarys for Santry's Omni Park centre
The successful Omni Park shopping centre in the Santry area of Dublin is to broaden its appeal with the arrival next May of the Northern Ireland department group Menarys.
The company, founded in 1923, will trade out of a store of 929sq m (10,000sq ft) on the first floor alongside a sister company Tempest.
Menarys, which plans to open a further 10 new stores over the next three years, also has outlets in Letterkenny and Carrick-on-Shannon and is due to open a further store in Tullamore later this year.
The Irish Planning Institute has given its annual conservation award to the restored CHQ building, above, in Dublin's IFSC which was redeveloped at a cost of €50 million. The former Stack A - dating from 1821 - now operates as a high quality boutique shopping and leisure destination. It is managed by Dublin estate agents HWBC.
Smithfield Luas kiosk let
Newly developed kiosks at stations along the Luas service in Dublin continue to rent. The latest unit of 11sq m (118sq ft) at Smithfield Luas stop is understood to have been let at the advertised rent of €18,000 per annum. The tenant will be Ron Boersma of Shoreline Concepts who also operates the Stew Station along the Luas at North King Street. Emma Walsh of Lisney handled the letting for the Railway Procurement Agency.
HWBC manages 1bn portfolio
Dublin agency HWBC has scored notable successes in its property and facilities management division. It has been appointed to manage several large properties, bringing its portfolio to more than €1bn with an annual rent roll of €54m and an annual service charge expenditure of over €10m.
The new properties on HWBC's books include office developments Block G at East Point, D3; The Harcourt Building, D2; Fumbally Square in D8; and ACC's nationwide portfolio.
New retail accommodation includes Swords Central shopping centre in Co Dublin; Four Lakes Retail Park in Carlow; and the Harbour Square retail and residential scheme at Dún Laoghaire.
Limerick shop for 4m
Limerick agent O'Connor Murphy Gubbins is seeking €4 million for a retail building occupied by Empire Music at 118 O'Connell Street.
The four-storey Georgian building has a floor area of 630sq m (6,790sq ft), including a ground floor retail area of 205sq m (2,216sq ft). Two of the upper floors are in need of complete renovation, according to the agent.
